Lee Lumber
Location
Lee Lumber was founded in 1952 at 633 West Pershing Road, on Chicago's south side. The direction of the business initially was to serve remodeling contractors. Since that time, Lee Lumber has grown to become the largest lumberyard headquartered in Chicago, with a second Chicago north side location and sales office/showrooms in Merrillville, Indiana, and Highland Park. Clientele has expanded to include virtually all of the Crain's Chicago Business top 25 contractors, custom homebuilders, noted architects, and sophisticated remodelers and homeowners.
Lee Lumber has always specialized in service and millwork and quality products. Today, our people are highly trained specialists in one or more areas of expertise. Many have completed technical courses outside the company as well as training at manufacturers' facilities. Our Estimating Department can convert a conventional, stick-built blue print to Engineered Wood Products and provide sealed drawings for construction and permits. Our Window Department personnel know their product lines inside and out and will go so far as to suggest adjustment to sill heights so as to align divided lites of window and door units.
Our attitude at Lee Lumber is that if all we do is quote a price, we are doing a disservice. We need to know the needs of the customer and the job. We want to establish relationships with our customers so that we may be of maximum service. We want to understand how we can serve you best. The material difference at Lee Lumber is not just the material, it's the overall value package that makes us better and makes the job run smoother.
