Secure Doors

There is a manufacturer called Secure Enterprises who make and market their product called Secure Door®. They claim to be a highly effective and economical solution for protecting existing garage doors and residences from the potential devastation of hurricane winds. Secure Door® was introduced to the South Florida market for the 2003 hurricane season.
Secure Door® is a patented vertical bracing system made from lightweight, high quality aircraft-grade aluminium that attaches to the inside of the garage door. Secure doors (Secure Door®) reinforces the door and provides support and anchors for the door in addition to the garage door tracks. Secure Door®'s performance capabilities they claim have been proven through independent laboratory tests. Secure Door® is claimed to have earned recognition from the Florida Department of Consumer Affairs, Florida Department of Insurance, FEMA's Project Impact, Local and State Emergency Management and was apparently selected for inclusion and exhibition at the University of Florida's Windstorm Training Center "hurricane homes" in Ft. Pierce and St. Augustine, Florida. With Secure Doors, it is claimed that even an un-reinforced steel garage door can be fortified to withstand the winds of the strongest hurricanes.
