Sanibel Seashell, a unique family run business, is located just off the south western coast of Florida on beautiful Sanibel Island. Since 1988 our store has been run by the Strange and Greenplate families. The shop was established in 1942, the first on Sanibel Island. Not only can you browse our retail store, we also offer email, fax, phone, and online secure shopping, making your shelling experience very convenient.
In 1968, marine biologist, Larry Strange and his wife Carol opened a store in New Jersey as a seasonal business where their hobby and love of collecting seashells could grow. Being raised in an environment surrounded by seashells and worldwide travel opportunities, their children also developed a passion for shells.
