The Brass Bow Music Company was established by Wayne Tanabe in 1983 to serve musicians of all levels, from novice to professional. Located in the northwest Chicago suburb of Arlington Hts, Illinois, for 24 years The Brass Bow has been noted throughout the country for its knowledgeable and experienced craftsmen who provided dependable and honest technical service in a prompt and timely manner.
The core of The Brass Bow has always been its repair facility, staffed with musicians who understood the importance and concerns of modern musicians. In addition to a highly regarded repair department, we always have been known for the use of the most up to date tools, technology, and knowledge in the band instrument repair field. The Brass Bow is also proud for their introduction of new technology into this craft such as cutting edge processes like Cryogenic Resonance Restoration™ CCR™ done on site.
Other leading-edge technologies that we introduced to band instrument repair at The Brass Bow includes, the Magnetic Dent Removal System, patented by Eric Satterlee and Wayne Tanabe and digital gauges to check valve alignments in our own Precision Valve Alignments / PVA™. Our Ultraclean™ process using a custom made Ultrasonic Cleaning System for the finest and most thorough cleaning of any metal wind instrument ever! We are one of the first to apply this innovation to the band instrument industry.
